STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Seven Stony Brook student-athletes who graduated in May received a high academic honor from America East on Wednesday.
The conference bestowed America East Presidential Scholar-Athlete honors on women's soccer's
Kimmy Chavkin,
Chelsie DePonte,
Fanny Götesson and
Anna Slang as well as
Kyle Hebert of men's lacrosse,
Siobhan Rafferty of women's lacrosse and
Margaret Ross of women's cross country and track and field.
The honor goes to spring graduates who achieved a minimum of a 3.75 cumulative GPA.
Ross produced a perfect 4.0 undergraduate GPA as a sociology major.
Chavkin earned her degree in biomedical engineering, DePonte in business, Götesson in business and sociology, Hebert in business, Rafferty in psychology and Slang in biology.
