PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Three goals in eight minutes were the difference as the Stony Brook women's soccer team (1-2-1) dropped a 4-0 decision against Providence on Thursday night.
Alexis Rothmann took advantage of a Stony Brook turnover in the 14th minute to make it 1-0 to the hosts and then the Friars scored goals in the 55th, 61st and 63rd to put the match away.
Emerson Richmond Burke made six saves in the match, five of which came in the first 45 minutes.
STATS AND NOTES
- The six saves for the Seattle native match a career high that she hit twice last season: a regular season trip to UAlbany (4/4) and in the NCAA Tournament against Ohio State (4/28).
- It is two more than her previous season high of four.
- Silja Rålm Von Porat recorded her first career shot on the season.
