NEWARK, Del. - Despite a stellar two-goal performance from sophomore forward
Jonas Bickus, the Stony Brook men's soccer team fell in a conference battle to Delaware, 3-2.
The Seawolves were off to a swift start when Bickus scored 65 seconds into the first half, taking advantage of a cross from junior midfielder Trevor Harrison.
Bickus' second goal came in the 70th minute, taking a pass from sophomore midfielder Amit Magoz and scurrying past the Delaware defenders to knock the ball into the bottom right corner of the net.
The Blue Hens scored twice in the second half, in the 48th and 55th minutes, which was enough to power past the Seawolves and secure the victory.
STATS AND NOTES
- Bickus' goals were his fifth and sixth of the season. It was his second multi-goal game of the season as he currently leads the team in goals.
- Harrison recorded his second assist of the season, tying his career best achieved in both the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
- Senior goalkeeper Edmond Kaiser made four saves. He has 155 career saves, good for eighth-most in program history.
- Tonight's match was only the second meeting between the two teams, with the first ending in a 2-2 draw on October 14, 2001.
