RICHMOND, Va. – As the Seawolves prepare for their first-ever appearance in the CAA postseason, three members of the Stony Brook University women's soccer teams earned All-Conference honors as announced by the league office on Wednesday. The Seawolves placed one student-athlete on the All-Conference Second Team, two on the Third Team, and one on the All-Rookie Team.
Senior defender
Catharina von Drigalski was tabbed to the All-Conference Second Team. Junior forward
Reilly Rich and freshman midfielder
Linn Beck were selected to the All-Conference Third Team. Beck also earned All-Rookie honors after her standout rookie campaign. von Drigalski, Rich, and Beck are the first student-athletes in program history to take home CAA All-Conference awards.
von Drigalski has been an anchor for the Seawolves' back line starting with her freshman season in 2019. The senior tied the program's single game assist record with her career-high four helpers against Hampton on September 25. With her offensive help in that contest, Stony Brook set six new program records. The German leads Stony Brook this season with seven assists, placing her within the top three in the conference. von Drigalski's 15 career assists have earned the defender a ninth-place spot in the program's record book. von Drigalski previously earned America East All-Championship Team, All-America East Second Team and All-America East Rookie Team honors in her career with the Seawolves.
Rich burst on to the scene in 2022, and earned herself a spot on the All-Conference Third Team. The New York native currently leads the Seawolves in goals (7), points (19), shots (50) and shots on goal (25) and sits among the top 10 in the conference in all respective categories. Two of the junior's seven goals came against Hampton, helping Stony Brook break six program records and marking her first multi-goal contest since joining the squad. With Rich's seven goals, the Seawolves currently lead the conference in goals this season.
Beck's breakout 2022 campaign earned her All-Conference Third Team and All-Rookie honors. The Frankfurt, Germany native is the first freshman to earn All-Conference honors since
Catharina von Drigalski secured a spot on the America East All-Rookie Team in 2019. Beck currently sits in second on the squad in various offensive categories such as goals (6), points (16), shots (32) and shots on goal (19). The freshman became the first student-athlete in program history to take home a CAA weekly award when she claimed CAA Rookie of the Week honors after Stony Brook's win against Hampton. Beck recorded a hat trick in the contest and became the first student-athlete to record a hat trick for the Seawolves since the 2021 campaign (
Alyssa Francese vs. Vermont on Sept. 26, 2021).
No. 6 Stony Brook will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to take on No. 3 Northeastern in the CAA Quarterfinal on Thursday, October 27 at 5:30 p.m. at Drexel.
