TRUMBULL, Conn. — In a match that came down to the wire, the Stony Brook tennis team fell on the short end of a 4-3 scoreline against Sacred Heart on Friday night.
After dropping the singles point, three Seawolves were able to take home singles victories, as Loretto Villalba Rubio,
Chandrika Joshi and
Kristine Theys all earned points but Stony Brook was not able to secure one more in the end.
Joshi won via a second-set retirement, going 6-3, 4-1 before her match ended. Rubio and Theys each won three-set matches, with Theys erasing a one-set deficit to win the final two 7-5, 11-9. Rubio took home her match at No. 2 with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 final.
