BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — For the third consecutive game, the Stony Brook baseball program had its game decided in the last at-bat, but this time, the decision went against the Seawolves as LIU hit a walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth to take a 3-2 victory on Tuesday afternoon.
Evan Giordano continued his hot stretch, launching a home run for the third consecutive game to tie the game at two in the sixth.
The other run came in the first inning, as
Shane Paradine cashed in
Evan Fox's one-out triple, driving a sacrifice fly to left to start the scoring early.
LIU scored both of its runs in the third via a fielder's choice and an overthrow at second base.
STATS AND NOTES
- Giordano's homer is his team-leading fourth of the season and third in as many games. He's now hitting 11-for-20 over his last five games with nine RBI and seven runs scored.
- Fox extended his hitting streak to a team-best eight with a 2-for-4 day. The triple his first of the season and third of his career.
- With a 1-for-3 day, Shane Paradine has reached in 13 consecutive games, the longest current streak on the squad. Brett Paulsen has reached in 12 in a row.

QUOTES FROM THE SEAWOLVES
"Credit to LIU. They got the big hit when they needed it and unfortunately, it came down to that one swing due to our lack of timely hitting with a lot of runners in scoring position.
Josh O'Neill was a bright spot today as well as
Evan Giordano hitting another home run" - head coach
Matt Senk.
