BOSTON – Shane Henderson and Colin Ross have excelled both on and off the track. The duo was recognized for their hard work in the classroom on Thursday as they were tabbed to the America East All-Academic Team.
 
Henderson has been named to the Dean's list, as well as the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll, each semester he has been at Stony Brook (three times). The junior Business Management major was also named to the Stony Brook Society of Distinguished Scholar-Athletes.
 
The Connecticut native has made his presence known on the track, consistently earning top finishes. Henderson earned a second-place overall finish in the 5000 meter at the ECAC/IC4A Championship with his final time of 14:13.80. He added another second-place finish in the 3000 meter at the Penn 10-Team Select. Henderson secured two first-place finishes this past season, winning the 3000 meter at the Fast Track Last Chance Invite and the 5000 meter at the Great Dane Classic.
 
Ross' hard work in the classroom has not gone unnoticed as he has been named to the Dean's list and the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll three semesters in a row (Fall 2020, Spring 2021, Fall 2021). The senior Political Science major was also named to the Stony Brook Society of Distinguished Scholar-Athletes.
 
Ross not only had tremendous success in the classroom, but also on the track. The New York native took home a fifth-place overall finish in the 3000 meter at the ECAC/IC4A Championships with a final time of 8:07.02. Ross recorded podium finishes at the Fast Track Last Chance Invite and the Great Dane Classic earning second-place finishes in the 3000 meter at both meets.
