STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The outdoor season for Stony Brook men's track and field began in stellar fashion on Saturday at the Snowflake Classic as the Seawolves picked up four event wins and 17 total top-eight placements.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Jamal Joseph showcased his speed to win the 100-meter dash (11.23).
- Andres Acosta Mondriguez picked up a first-place finish in the 800-meter event with a PR time of 1:53.98.
- Peter Fogarty won the mile run (4:18.16).
- Steven Struk outran the field, taking first in the 3,000-meter (8:32.04).
- Caleb Gartner placed second in the 800-meter (1:53.99).
- A solid time of 11.28 helped Ryan Swinea finish second in the 100-meter.
- Chris Tardugno ran a strong mile to finish second in the event (4:25.04).
- Matthew Brodsky crossed the finish line in 1:55.10, finishing third and setting a new PR in the 800-meter.
- Andrew Lawler placed third in the mile run (4:29.59).
- Walesky Nowak posted a solid time of 1:55.19 to finish fourth in the 800-meter.
- David Onovo opened his outdoor season by placing fourth in the 100-meter (11.54).
- Michael Ye also had a good performance in the 100-meter (11.61), helping secure a fifth-place finish.
- In his collegiate debut, Michael Stadler recorded a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter (1:56.61).
- Ryan Scarry began the spring by setting a new PR and finishing sixth in the 400-meter (53.40).
- Jaden Medrano finished sixth in the 800-meter (1:58.07).
- Finn Burke placed sixth overall in the 3,000-meter (9:05.42).
- Shane Ethakkan finished eighth in the 3,000-meter (9:25.73).
UP NEXT
Stony Brook will resume outdoor action later in the month when it travels down south for the Raleigh Relays, taking place on Thursday, March 26, and Friday, March 27.
