Track & Field Kicks Off Day One at Monmouth; Carlos Santos Rounds Out Last Day at Raleigh Relays

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Stony Brook University track and field team kicked off day one at Monmouth University with the men's and women's hammer throw.
 
Cheyenne Baxter Gregory recorded a personal best in the hammer throw with a final mark of 39.22m. The senior surpassed her previous best of 34.54m. Kyria Moore earned a fifth-place finish with a mark of 46.18m.
 
RALEIGH, N.C. – Carlos Santos crossed the line in 9:03.84 to secure a top 30 finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase and round out Raleigh Relays for the Seawolves.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Baxter Gregory recorded a personal best in the hammer throw with a final mark of 39.22m, surpassing her previous best of 34.54m.
  • Moore earned a fifth-place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 46.18m.
  • Darnell Paul threw for a distance of 36.51m to record a top 15 finish in the hammer throw.
  • Santos crossed the line in 9:03.84 to secure a top 30 finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase.

UP NEXT
The Seawolves are back in action tomorrow when they compete in day two at Monmouth University. The first event kicks off at 10:30 a.m.
