PRINCETON, N.J. — Scoring the first seven goals of the game, the No. 5 Stony Brook women's lacrosse team would leave no doubt in enemy territory against No. 10 Princeton, rolling to a 16-8 victory on Tuesday night.
Jaden Hampel led the way offensively, recording three goals and three assists to pace the Seawolves with six points.
Ellie Masera had an all-around statline, finishing with two goals, two assists, four ground balls, 12 draw controls and three caused turnovers.
Siobhan Rafferty fired home a team-high four goals.
The Seawolves defense swarmed for the first half, holding the Tigers scoreless for the first 27:07, allowing their offense to start on a seven-goal run. Hampel scored two of her three during the stretch, while
Kailyn Hart also added a pair.
In an even second-half, the Stony Brook lead ballooned as far as 10 at 16-6. The defensive ride of Stony Brook also caused havoc for Princeton in its own half, forcing five failed clears, including four in the first 30 minutes.

- Hampel set a new career high with six points, besting her five she had against Johns Hopkins on March 13.
- Masera set a new career high in draw controls (12), five better than her seven at Florida.
- Led by Ellie's 12, the Seawolves finished with 17 draw controls, the most this season.
- Stony Brook's defense has allowed single digit goals six times this season, including five straight. Over the last five games, they are allowing 5.2 goals over the last five games.
- Kameron Halsall recorded a season-best nine saves tonight. In two games against the Tigers, she has 21 saves in the cage.

The Seawolves play a pair of games in 48 hours this weekend, hosting Arizona State on Friday night at LaValle Stadium, with first draw at 6 p.m.
