STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Seawolves kept it rolling on Sunday afternoon as they secured the series sweep over Hartford by picking up a 6-2 victory at University Field. Continued dominance by graduate pitcher
Dawn Bodrug in the circle and timely hitting by the Seawolves sparked the team to their fourth-straight win as they finished off a 4-1 week.
Bodrug went the distance for Stony Brook as she tossed her 19
th complete game of the season. The graduate went 7.0 innings and allowed two runs (earned) on five hits. She struck out 13 and walked just one en route to her 16
th win of the season. Bodrug struck out the side three times in the victory as she was coming off of her third no-hitter of the season and fifth of her career.

Corinne Badger got the offense going in the bottom of the first inning. The junior drove a double into left center field to plate sophomore infielder
Kyra McFarland for the Seawolves' first run of the day.
Hartford got on the board with a pair of runs in the top of the second inning, but that was all Bodrug would allow as she shutdown the Hawks over the final five innings. Junior infielder
Brooke Dye was able to tie the game up at 2-2 in the bottom of the second inning with a fielder's choice RBI.
Stony Brook was able to take the lead once again in the bottom of the fourth inning thanks to an RBI double by senior infielder
Lindsey Osmer. Dye later scored a run on an error by Hartford's shortstop Paige Fedak to make it 4-2.
The Seawolves' bats added a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Sophomore utility
Catherine Anne Kupinski drove in a run with an RBI double and then sophomore outfielder
Alicia Orosco came through with a two-out RBI single to give Stony Brook a 6-2 advantage.
STATS AND NOTES
- Bodrug earned her 16th win of the season as she tossed her 45th career complete game. The graduate struck out 13 and recorded her 15th double-digit strikeout game of the season and third in as many starts.
- Badger went 2-3 at the dish was an RBI double and a run scored. It was her 13th multi-hit game of the season, the most on the team.
- Sophomore infielder Ashley Jacobson went 2-2 at the plate with two runs scored. It marked her third multi-hit game of the season and second of the series. All three of her multi-hit games this season have come this week.
- Kupinski went 2-3 with an RBI double and a run scored. Orosco was 1-4 at the plate with two RBI. Orosco has now reached base safely in eight consecutive games.

Stony Brook continues its homestand on Wednesday, April 27, when it welcomes UMBC to University Field for a 1 p.m. start. The Seawolves are 0-2 against the Retrievers this season as they fell to them 5-1 and 3-0 in a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 13, in Baltimore.
