BOSTON – For the second time this season Stony Brook graduate pitcher
Dawn Bodrug has been named the America East Pitcher of the Week. Bodrug concluded another stellar week for the Seawolves as she went 3-0 in the circle with a 1.11 ERA and tossed her fifth career no-hitter in Saturday's game one win over Hartford.
The graduate began the week by recording a complete game win in game two against Manhattan last Thursday. Bodrug went 7.0 innings and surrendered one run (earned) on four hits and struck out 12. She followed that performance up by pitching a no-hitter on Saturday as Stony Brook knocked off Hartford, 11-0, in five innings.
On Sunday, Bodrug earned her third win of the week as she went the distance for Stony Brook tossing her 19
th complete game of the season. The graduate went 7.0 innings and allowed two runs (earned) on five hits. She struck out 13 and walked just one en route to her 16
th win of the season, a 6-2 defeat of Hartford.
Stony Brook continues its homestand on Wednesday, April 27, when it welcomes UMBC to University Field for a 1 p.m. start. The Seawolves are 0-2 against the Retrievers this season as they fell to them 5-1 and 3-0 in a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 13, in Baltimore.
