STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Supporters of Stony Brook University athletics made their contributions felt on the department's annual Giving Day as their generosity helped the Seawolves soar past their goal.
"Thank you to the loyal members of our Stony Brook Athletics family who answered the call by making a gift on Giving Day. The tremendous generosity in support of our student-athletes provides our department with a burst of momentum as we enter the CAA on July 1, and I'm excited to share more of our plans in the months ahead," said Director of Athletics
Shawn Heilbron.
This year proved to be the most successful Giving Day to date as 400 donors combined to contribute $56,395 (total as of April 29) to the athletics department. The department's goal was 275 donors and $50,000, which it surpassed en route to a memorable day of giving.
These gifts support the many robust programs and initiatives that the athletics department has to offer. As the department continues to gear up for the next chapter in its history as a member of the Colonial Athletic Association the continued generosity from the Stony Brook community is essential to helping the Seawolves achieve what is great.
