STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Graduate pitcher
Dawn Bodrug kept her hot dealing going on Tuesday as she tossed her fourth career no-hitter en route to the Seawolves' 8-0 win over St. John's. The no-hitter was the second she has pitched in the last week (no-hitter against Maine on April 2) and the 16
th in Stony Brook's Division I era.
With her four no-hitters, Bodrug has surpassed Alyssa Struzenburg and Stephanie Poetzsch and now sits on top in the record book for the most no-hitters in the program's Division I era. The graduate is only the second pitcher in program history to toss a no-hitter in consecutive starts (Jane Sallen April 16 & 17, 2016, vs. UMass Lowell).
The Canada native dominated in the circle as she tossed 6.0 innings and struck out 15 batters. The 15 strikeouts are tied for the second-most this season since she put away 15 batters against Utah State and Hofstra on March 4 and March 22, respectively.
Stony Brook's offense was led by sophomore utility
Catherine Anne Kupinski who went 3-4 at the plate and recorded a team-high three RBI. Kupinski came full circle as she got the Seawolves on the board first in the second inning with a RBI single that allowed
Corinne Badger to score and led to
Ashley Jacobson scoring off an error by the center fielder. Kupinski was also the batter that drove in the game-ending run in the sixth with a double to right center which brought Badger home and gave Stony Brook an 8-0 lead.

QUOTES FROM THE SEAWOLVES
"It was another great ball game by Dawn. I thought today she was really efficient, really dialed in, and she really dictated the tempo. We were more productive today, I thought we had a great two-strike approach. We did a really good job with runners in scoring position," said head coach
Megan T. Bryant.
"Every pitch I was reminding myself drive with your legs, trust your spin. My pitches were working; however, I did have to work through some mechanical things. However, it was really just reminding myself over and over, "trust it, trust it, trust it," and I guess it worked," said Bodrug following her fourth career no-hitter.
