STONY BROOK, N.Y. — The Seawolves are adding more size to their frontcourt.
7-footer Keenan Fitzmorris, a graduate of Stanford, will join the Stony Brook men's basketball program for the upcoming 2022-23 campaign.
"Keenan is a versatile forward that should make an immediate impact with our team," head coach
Geno Ford. "He is very skilled with great size and competes at a high level. We are looking forward to his ability to score both in the paint and on the perimeter, while giving us a defensive presence at the rim. He is a great student, awesome teammate and he will provide veteran leadership to our locker room."
A member of the NABC Honors Court and three-time Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll recipient, Fitzmorris made 18 total appearances for the Cardinal. A native of Overland Park, Kan., and a graduate of the New Hampton School in New Hampshire, Fitzmorris was the 13th-best center of the 2018 class, according to Rivals150 and the 15th-best player at his position by 247Sports.
"I'm so excited to be part of such a special community with rich basketball heritage," Fitzmorris said. "I could tell Stony Brook is a special place from the moment I stepped on campus and am looking forward to playing for Coach Ford and the entire staff. I am extremely excited to work with him, as well as Coach Rickard, Coach Avery and Coach Uken and work with George and Elizabeth to aspire for big things. Let's go compete for championships!"
