Program Record Seven Men’s Lacrosse Student-Athletes Earn USILA Scholar All-American Honors

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – A program record seven Stony Brook men's lacrosse student-athletes earned USILA Scholar All-American honors as announced by the organization. Additionally, the men's lacrosse program claimed the USILA Team All-Academic award for earning a cumulative GPA of above 3.0 for the 2021-22 academic year.
 
Wayne White, David Miele-Estrella, Austin Deskewicz, Matt DeMeo, Jacob Williams, Kevin Mack, and Mike McCannell all took home USILA Scholar All-American accolades for their academic success coupled with their athletic contributions to the men's lacrosse program.
 
"We are extremely proud of our team for earning the USILA Team Academic Award and would like to congratulate Wayne, David, Austin, Matt, Jacob, Kevin, and Mike on being named Scholar All-Americans. With seven guys earning Scholar All-American honors, we set a new program record which is a testament to their hard work day-in and day-out," said head coach Anthony Gilardi.
 
The Seawolves' previous program record for USILA Scholar All-American honorees was three in the 2020 season. With seven student-athletes earning Scholar All-American honors, Stony Brook was tied with Cleveland State and Jacksonville for the third-most honorees in 2022. Brown had the most student-athletes take home Scholar All-American honors with nine and Rutgers had the second-most with eight.
 
Stony Brook was one of 40 institutions from around the nation to receive the USILA Team All-Academic award.
