STONY BROOK, N.Y. — 10 years ago, the Stony Brook Baseball team "Shocked the World" by advancing to the 2012 College World Series. To celebrate, Stony Brook Athletics is telling the story from back to front in a three-part documentary, "1300 Miles to Omaha."
In a three-episode release, the documentary starts with a trip to 1991, when the then-Division III Patriots hired
Matt Senk to be their head baseball coach. Mentoring a six-time MLB all-star and two more MLB starting pitchers were just part of the journey that led the program to its magical 2012 campaign that ran through the Coral Gables Regional and Baton Rouge Super Regional as the Seawolves punched their ticket to Omaha.
Join the Stony Brook Baseball program June 13, 14 and 15 as we unveil the three episodes at 8 p.m., all premiering on the Stony Brook Athletics YouTube channel. The full documentary will be available following the final episode.
