First-Half Outburst Powers Women's Soccer to Road Win at Bryant

SMITHFIELD, R.I. — Three goals in 21 minutes from Gabby Daniels, Reilly Rich and Sammy Hannwacker put the Stony Brook women's soccer team on the front foot in the first half and they would control the rest of the way en route to a 3-1 victory over Bryant on Sunday afternoon at Beirne Stadium in Smithfield, R.I.

Daniels started the scoring off a corner kick, volleying home a goal that made it 1-0 for her first of the season. Rich and Hannwacker both opened their Seawolves scoring accounts, as each converted on one-on-one situations with the keeper to give Stony Brook a cushion. Rich's tally came in the 29th minute off a great feed from Kerry Pearson, while Kaylee Armenia found Sammy Hannwacker to play her in 12 minutes later.
The Seawolves controlled the opening frame, outshooting the Bulldogs 8-4 with five of the shots on frame. They finished with a 16-12 advantage overall.

Bischof's club also had 75 percent of its possession in the Bulldogs' side during the first 45 minutes of action. 65 percent of their possession over the 90 minutes was in the visitor's half.

COACH'S COMMENTS
"It was a good performance by us in our first away game of the season. We looked very sharp at times, especially in the first half. I'm also happy that the five goals we have scored so far were all scored by a different player." - head coach Tobias Bischof.
