RICHMOND, Va. - Grace Weigele of Stony Brook women's cross country was named the CAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning. Weigele paced the Seawolves at the 49th annual Paul Short Run on Saturday, placing 12th individually.

Weigele covered the 6K course in 20:35.2, missing out on a top-ten finish by less than two seconds. Weigele's time was the fastest among CAA competitors at the event, earning crucial points for the Seawolves as part of a 14th place team finish in the event that featured 44 programs.

Next up for Stony Brook is the beginning of championship season, when the Seawolves race at the ECAC/IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday, Oct. 13.
