STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Four Stony Brook football student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators' Football Academic All-District Team, as graduate student
Casey Case, redshirt senior
De'Aundre Cruz, redshirt junior
Taylor Bolesta and sophomore
Clayton Taylor earned the academic distinction as announced by the organization Tuesday afternoon.
The quartet was named Academic All-District by CSC (formerly CoSIDA) by achieving a 3.5 cumulative GPA. Graduate students are required to have a 3.5 cumulative GPA throughout undergrad and grad school.
On the field, student-athletes must play in 90% of their team's games or start in 66% to be eligible for the award.
Case is currently pursuing his MBA at Stony Brook, Cruz is getting his bachelor's in sociology, Bolesta in history and Taylor is majoring in business.
All players are eligible to be selected for CSC's Academic All-American list, which will be released on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
