TOWSON, Md. – The Stony Brook baseball team (23-29, 14-16 CAA) fell to Towson University (19-37, 7-23 CAA), 12-2, in the regular season finale Saturday afternoon at John B. Schuerholz Park.
The Tigers scored an early run in the bottom of the first to take the 1-0 lead. After first-year student
Eddie Smink ended his afternoon by stranding two runners in the second inning, Towson added six runs in the third and four runs in the fourth inning to take an 11-0 lead.
After graduate left-hander
Jared Bellissimo held the Tigers scoreless in the fifth inning, Towson came back and scored a run in the sixth. But, the Seawolves answered with two runs of their own in the following inning.
Senior
Brett Paulsen led the inning off with a knock, first-year student
Johnny Pilla reached on an error, and sophomore
Chris Leone singled to center field to load the bases. Sophomore
Matt DeStefano brought home Paulsen on a fielder's-choice and junior
Evan Fox tallied his 37th RBI of the season on a knock to left field that made the score 12-2.

JT Raab completed the seventh and eighth inning by not surrendering a run nor hit in their two innings of work. The Seawolves were unable to capture anymore runs in the game, as the Tigers held on the 12-2 lead and ultimately the victory.
