WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Stony Brook women's track and field team competed in the program's first-ever outdoor CAA Championships on May 5-6.
On Friday, junior Fiona McLouhglin highlighted the day for the Seawolves with a seventh-place overall finish in the 10000 meter with a final time of 37:05.06.
Stony Brook was paced by graduate
Samantha Rutt on the final day of the meet who earned a third-place overall finish in the 800 meter with a final time of 2:09.67.
The 4x400 relay team also earned a top five finish on Saturday with a final combined time of 3:44.89. The team was made up of
Enyero Omokeni,
Dana Cerbone,
Aristea Franks, and
Jada Hodge.
FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS
- Nicole Garcia and Niamh Durcan both qualified for the finals in the 1500 meter. The pair also set new personal bests with their final times of 4:36.46 and 4:38.97, respectively.
- Danella Dawkins qualified for finals and earned a new personal best with a final time of 14.38 in the 100 meter hurdles.
- Rutt qualified for finals in the 800 meter with a final time of 2:12.93.
SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS
- Garcia earned an 11th place overall finish in the 1500 meter while Durcan finished directly behind her in 12th.
- Dawkins secured an eighth-place overall finish in the 100 meter hurdles with a final time of 14.54.
- The 4x100 meter relay squad comprised of Jaelyn Davis, Cerbone, Dawkins, and Hodge earned a seventh-place overall finish with a final time of 46.92.
