Five Non-Conference Matches & Nine Home Contests Highlight 2023 Women’s Soccer Schedule

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook women's soccer team has announced its 2023 schedule on Monday as head coach Tobias Bischof is set to begin his fifth season at the helm of the program.

"I'm excited for our upcoming fall season. We will play five competitive non-conference games to prepare us for CAA play," said coach Bischof as he discussed the Seawolves' 2023 slate.

Following a 2022 season that saw the Seawolves capture a 4-2-3 record in the CAA and a trip to the CAA quarterfinals, the 2023 schedule features five non-conference matchups and 12 CAA games, with nine total home contests at LaValle Stadium.

The regular season slate kicks off with three-straight matches at LaValle Stadium. The Seawolves will kick-off the season against UMass on August 17, followed by back-to-back home games against Bryant and Lafayette on August 20 and 24, respectively.

Stony Brook will hit the road for the first time on August 27, when it heads to North Andover, Mass. to battle Merrimack. To round out the month of August, the squad takes a quick trip to the Bronx to battle Fordham on August 31. The Seawolves will look to continue their success against the Rams after winning the previous three meetings and five of the last six.

The CAA portion of the schedule begins at LaValle Stadium on September 7, as the Seawolves welcome conference newcomer Campbell for their first-ever meeting. After traveling to Hampton on September 10, the Seawolves will host back-to-back conference matches at LaValle Stadium against Delaware and the reigning CAA Champions, Hofstra on September 14 and 17, respectively. The Seawolves will look to keep their magic against these foes as the squad went 3-0 against Hampton, Delaware, and Hofstra last season.

To begin October, the Seawolves open the month against William & Mary at home, followed by back-to-back road trips to UNC Wilmington and Charleston. Stony Brook will be seeking their second-straight victory against UNCW when they meet on October 5, and to redeem their scoreless tie against the Charleston from last season on October 8.

The Seawolves will end their regular season by playing two of their final three games in front of the faithful at LaValle Stadium. Stony Brook will host Drexel on October 12 and battle Elon for the first time in program history in their home finale on October 15. The Seawolves will head to Boston for the regular season finale when they take on Northeastern on October 19.

The top six teams from the regular season qualify for the CAA Tournament that begins on October 26, with the quarterfinals. The semifinals will be held on October 29, and the Championship final is slated for the following weekend on November 4.
