Von Drigalski Tabbed to Women’s Soccer Preseason All-CAA Team

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - Stony Brook University women's graduate defender Catharina Von Drigalski was tabbed Preseason All-CAA as she enters her fifth year with the program.

Last season, Von Drigalski played in and started all 19 matches for the Seawolves. She set career highs offensively with two goals scored, a team-high seven assists and 11 points. The Oberursel, Germany native tied a program single-game record with four assists in Stony Brook's victory over Hampton last season.

The Preseason All-CAA honor is another feather in the cap for Von Drigalski; her decorated Seawolves' career includes back-to-back conference championships, All-America East Second Team, All-Championship and All-CAA Second Team distinction.

Over her previous four seasons on Long Island, she played in 66 matches and tallied 21 points (three goals, 15 assists). She logged 5,378 minutes in her career and started every match that she has played in.
 
Von Drigalski graduated from undergrad with a bachelor's degree in business and psychology in May. Academically, she won the CAA Institutional Scholar Athlete award, has been named to the 2022-23 CSC Academic All-District Team, was a member of the America East Honor Roll in the fall of 2019 and was tabbed to the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll in the fall of 2020 and 2021. She has been recognized on the Stony Brook Dean's List every semester of her career.

The Seawolves kick-off the 2023 season at LaValle Stadium on Thursday, August 17, at 6:31 p.m., when they welcome UMass to Long Island. The game is free to attend and open to the public!
