BROOKLINE, Mass. - Stony Brook men's soccer and Northeastern played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday on the road at Parsons Field. Olsen Aluc netted his team-leading fourth goal of the season as the Seawolves remained unbeaten to begin CAA play.
Stony Brook opened the scoring in the 53rd minute when Aluc scored on an assist from Lorenzo Selini on a set-piece. Aluc's goal followed two prime chances for the Huskies, including one that rang off the crossbar.
The Huskies responded to tie things up on a goal from Sebastian Restrepo in the 60th minute, assisted by Andres Torrealba and Thomas Vold. Neither team tacked on another goal in the game, despite late tries by Trevor Harrison and Northeastern's Edward Rendle.
STATS AND NOTES
- Aluc's goal opened the scoring and was his team-leading fourth of the season. He also leads the team with 10 points (four goals, two assists) through seven matches.
- Selini's assist marked the first point of his Stony Brook career and the fourth of his collegiate career.
- Edmond Kaiser made three saves, including one in the final seconds on a cross through the box by Northeastern.
- The Seawolves 2-0-2 start (eight points) to conference play is the program's best since opening up 4-0-0 (12 points) in America East play to begin the 2018 season.
