NEW BRITAIN, CONN.- The Stony Brook women's cross country team wrapped up its regular season on Friday with an impressive showing at the Central Connecticut Mini Meet.
As a team, the Seawolves finished third with 110 points in the Varisty 3000m race. Danielle Cirrito headlined a trifecta of top 20 placements for Stony Brook, finishing (13th). Rounding out the top 20 finishes were
Alejandra Garcia (18th) and
Miranda Gatto (20th). All three top 20 finishers raced to a final, clocking under 10:20.00.
Alexis Buskey (24th) and
Jade Pazmino (38th) also performed strongly, each running a sub-11-minute race.
Olivia Simonetti and
Julia Samuelson participated in the Sub Varsity 3000m race. Simonetti (6th) and Samuelson (25th) each took home a top-25 finish.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Cirrito's strong performance was good for 13th, as she posted an impressive 10:11.25 clocking.
- Garcia (18th) and Gatto (20th) were Stony Brook's other top performers in the Varsity 3000m.
- Simonetti's 10:44.35 time earned her a top ten placement (sixth) in the Sub Varsity race, and she was one of 13 participants who finished in under 11 minutes in a field of 58.

The Seawolves officially enter championship season next week, racing at the 2024 CAA Championships next Friday, Nov. 1, in Elon, North Carolina.
