RICHMOND, Va. – Four Stony Brook women's soccer student-athletes earned All-CAA distinction and
Linn Beck was tabbed the Co-Midfielder of the Year as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon. Beck,
Kerry Pearson and
Luciana Setteducate were named to the All-CAA First Team, while
Reilly Rich garnered All-CAA Second Team honors.
The quartet of all-conference performers helped lead the Seawolves to a 12-3-3 mark during the regular season, including a 7-1-2 record in league play that clinched Stony Brook a share of the CAA Regular Season Championship for the first time in program history.
Beck is the first student-athlete in program history to earn Midfielder of the Year honors from the conference office and is Stony Brook's first major award recipient since 2019. Beck finished the regular season with eight goals, six assists and 22 points, all of which were second-most on the team. She finished fourth in the CAA in goals and points and sixth in assists. Beck tallied a point in 10 of her 18 starts and registered a goal and an assist in three matches.
Pearson earned a spot on the All-CAA First Team for the second straight season. A team captain, she played in and started all 18 matches and logged a full 90 minutes in all but three of her appearances. Defensively, Pearson played a key role in Stony Brook's seven clean sheets. Offensively, she pitched in with game-winning goals in the Seawolves' final two matches of the season, helping the program secure a CAA Regular Season Championship.
Setteducate paved the way offensively for Stony Brook, leading the team with 10 goals, seven assists and 27 points. Her point total was tied for the league lead and tied for 20th most in the NCAA. Setteducate's 10 goals and seven assists were tied for second-most in the conference. Setteducate picked up a point in 10 of 18 matches, tallied a goal and an assist in three appearances and registered a pair of multi-goal games.
Rich earned All-CAA distinction for the third time in her career, earning a spot on the second team for the second straight season. Rich, along with Beck and Pearson, serves as a team captain and started in all 18 matches for the Seawolves. She totaled 20 points, with seven goals and six assists, all of which were third most on the team. Rich registered braces in victories over Le Moyne and UNC Wilmington and finished the regular season with a point in five straight matches and in six of her last seven appearances.
