STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Stony Brook men's basketball fell to Marist, 68-66, on Tuesday evening at Stony Brook Arena. The Seawolves possessed the ball down 67-66 with five seconds left, but a turnover erased Stony Brook's attempt at a game-winning shot.
HOW IT HAPPENED

- The game was tied at 14 apiece, but a 16-2 run by the Seawolves over a four-minute span gave Stony Brook a 30-16 advantage with seven minutes to play in the half.
- Marist closed the gap down the stretch, entering the intermission trailing by six points, 36-30.
- The two sides went back and forth for a majority of the second half, with Stony Brook maintaining a single-digit lead for 12 minutes before Marist gained a one-point advantage at the 7:45 mark.
- Collin O'Connor connected on a trifecta on the ensuing possession to put Stony Brook ahead again. The lead continued to change hands until the Red Foxes went ahead for good after five consecutive points in a 34-second span.
- After taking the lead with 3:08 remaining in the contest, Marist did not relinquish it. Josh Pascarelli hit a shot with 23 seconds remaining to pad the Red Foxes' lead to two possessions.
- Andre Snoddy finished through contact, converting on the ensuing free throw attempt with 10 seconds left to make it a one-point game. After Marist made one-of-two free throws on the other end, Stony Brook's last-second bid for a victory came up short after a turnover on the baseline.

QUOTES FROM THE SEAWOLVES
"It was a good college basketball game that we had a layup to win. Unfortunately we didn't convert it, but give Marist credit for making a couple big shots in crunch time and dominating the offensive glass," head coach Geno Ford said. "We lost the game on the backboard, but we are playing much better than we were a few weeks ago."
