McLoughlin Leads Plethora of Seawolves' Strong Performances at Fastrack National Invite

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The Stony Brook University women's track and field program competed at the Fastrack National Invite on Friday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. Fiona McLoughlin continued to shine, winning the mile, while six more teammates posted ECAC qualifying times at the meet.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • McLoughlin took first in the mile, racing to a 4:45.28 finish.
  • Five more Seawolves ran well in the mile, placing inside the top-eight behind McLoughlin and all five runners posted ECAC qualifying times.
  • Samantha Rutt also posted an ECAC qualifying time, placing second in the 800-meter with a time of 2:14.79.
  • Kyra Franks (57.82) raced to a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter event.
  • Danella Dawkins grabbed a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles (9.00).

"The women's mile was the fun event of the night for us, Fiona won the event and led five of her teammates under five minutes for the event," head coach Andy Ronan noted. "It was cool to have the six ladies run so well in the same race."

UP NEXT
The Seawolves turn their attention towards the CAA Championships, being hosted at the Armory in New York City on Feb. 22 and 23.
