NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Stony Brook University women's track and field team wrapped up the first day of competition at the 2024 CAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday. Fiona McLoughlin and Grace Weigele finished top-three in the 5K, while Danella Dawkins and Rebecca Clackett advanced to tomorrow night's finals in their respective events.
HIGHLIGHTS
- McLoughlin finished second in the 5K, with a personal-best 16:25.47 clocking. Weigele placed third, finishing in 16:29.64.
- Dawkins ran a season-best 8.77 in the 60-meter hurdles, advancing to the finals.
- Clackett ran the mile in 4:59.10, advancing to tomorrow's finals.
- The Seawolves' distance medley relay team (Olivia Simonetti, Paulina Gasparis, Julia Samuelson and Amelie Guzman) scored points, finishing fifth (12:11.38).
