NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Stony Brook University women's track and field program competed at the Scarlet Knight Open, hosted by Rutgers, at the Armory in New York City this weekend. Niamh Durcan posted an ECAC qualifying time, finishing the 3K with a personal-best 9:56.07 mark.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Durcan's time in the 3,000-meter was a personal-best time and earned her a seventh-place finish in the event.
• The quintet of Rebecca Clackett, Olivia Simonetti, Logan Barsalow, Sarah Connelly and Julia Samuelson combined to win the medley relay. They combined to finish with a 12:52.56 clocking as a unit.
• Amelie Guzman (17:40.42) and Grace Sisson (17:41.08) took sixth and seventh place, respectively, in the 5K.

"Over the two days I thought George Franks did very well with two really encouraging performances in the 200 & 400. The guys in the 5K put together a strong run as did Niamh in the 3000m," head coach Andy Ronan commented. "Another weekend where we saw noticeable improvement in some of our student-athletes' fitness and competitiveness."
