RICHMOND, Va. – Stony Brook's
Luciana Setteducate and
Nicolette Pasquarella earned CAA Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Pasquarella started all three matches in a 3-0 week for Stony Brook, totaling eight saves and playing 250 of a possible 270 minutes without conceding a goal. Pasquarella helped Stony Brook close out the non-conference slate with wins over Le Moyne, UMass Lowell and New Hampshire. Pasquarella notched her fifth win of the season on Sunday, matching her previous career-best mark.
Setteducate totaled eight points, scoring two goals and tallying three assists, in a three-win week for Stony Brook. Setteducate produced goals in the Seawolves' victories over Le Moyne and UMass Lowell. She added two assists in the win over Le Moyne, finishing with a season-best four points in the win. Setteducate's five assists are tied for the most individually in the CAA this season and her 11 points are third most in the league.
Stony Brook returns home to host Charleston in the CAA opener on Sunday, September 22. The Seawolves and Cougars face off at noon at LaValle Stadium, where Stony Brook is unbeaten (3-0-0) so far this season.
