Women's Soccer Drops Road Contest at Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Stony Brook University women's soccer was shutout on the road at Yale, 1-0, on Thursday evening. The Seawolves conceded a goal in the 72nd minute, accounting for the only goal of the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Stony Brook managed seven shots in the opening 30 minutes of the contest, compared to just three for Yale during that span. The Seawolves forced the Bulldogs' keeper to make four stops, but the final 15 minutes of the first half saw just three shots, all of which were off-target from Yale strikers. The two sides headed to the break after a scoreless half.

The script flipped to begin the second half, seeing Yale's offensive pressure create three more chances in the opening 10 minutes of action. Stony Brook's Nicolette Pasquarella had not been forced to make a save until the 69th minute, but was up to the task on the first on-target attempt from Yale. Minutes later however, Yale broke through after a corner to the far post found the foot of Marz Akins and ultimately, the back of the net.

Shots from Gabby Daniels and Luciana Setteducate were stopped down the stretch, serving as the Seawolves' best chance to find an equalizer. Stony Brook ultimately fell on the road, 1-0, at Yale.
