STONY BROOK, N.Y. - Stony Brook women's lacrosse alumnus Kylie Ohlmiller '18 was named to the New York Charging of the inaugural Maybelline Women's Lacrosse League. She will compete in the first-ever WLL Championship Series next month.
The series will commence on Tuesday, Feb. 11 in a fast-paced, Sixes styled tournament right outside of Washington D.C. at the St. James facility in Springfield, Va. The 12-player rosters will compete in three round-robin games before the semifinals on Sunday, Feb. 16., and the title game on Monday, Feb. 17.
Ohlmiller will compete on the 12-player roster for the New York Charging led by none-other than National Champion, two-time Tewaaraton Award Winner, and NCAA All-Time Goals Leader, Izzy Scane. The Charging is comprised of five Northwestern and four Syracuse alums, and an alum from both Boston College and Johns Hopkins.
In Ohlmiller's career at Stony Brook from 2014-18, she recorded 498 points on 252 goals and 246 assists. Her 164 points in 2017 still stands as an NCAA Division I women's lacrosse single-season record and holds the Division I career records for points and assists. Among many awards, she was named IWLCA Attacker of the Year, First Team All-American, and a Tewaaraton Award finalist (twice).
She helped Stony Brook to its first ever NCAA Championship quarterfinal appearances in 2017 and 2018 along with the program's first-ever No. 1 rankings among the IWLCA and the media in 2018. Professionally, Ohlmiller won gold for the U.S. National Team in the 2022 World Lacrosse Women's Championship, while also competing with Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse.
Ohlmiller will take part in the first-ever WLL Championship Series next month at the St. James facility in Springfield, Va. Held Feb. 11-17.
