HOW IT HAPPENED
Stony Brook started fast, seeing Alex Fleury net his first goal of the season just over eight minutes into the contest, assisted by Jackson Gould and Finlay Oliver. Despite the disadvantage, the Hawks leveled the match on a goal from Jakob Friedman in the 34th minute.
Things were leveled again when Sebastian Drummond was handed a red card in the 37th minute, evening the playing field again between Monmouth and Stony Brook. The Seawolves tried eight first-half shots, forcing Monmouth's keeper to make five saves over the opening 45 minutes.
The Seawolves and Fleury had a chance at a second goal on a penalty kick in the 54th minute, but the try was turned away and the score remained 1-1. Stony Brook eventually found the go-ahead goal, with Ryan Farr's fourth goal of the season.
