STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Stony Brook volleyball team nearly went the distance tonight as they came back from a 2-1 hole to force a fifth set, but ultimately lost 3-2 (25-21, 23-25, 7-25, 25-16, 14-16) to Campbell on Friday at Pritchard Gymnasium.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Seawolves grabbed control on the first point and never looked back to win the first set 25-21. The offense was at its best during the set, racking up 15 kills, led by Moore with five and Anderson with four. The defense also did its job to the tune of six blocks, four of which came from Pierre-Louis.
SET 2 | Stony Brook nearly went up 2-0 on the day after overcoming an early 10-5 deficit, but in the end could not hold on for the win as the Seawolves lost the second set 25-23. Kills from Mercedes Motton and Anderson, followed by an ace from Zayda Fuertez gave Stony Brook its first lead in the set late at 22-21. The Camels, though, went on to score four of the next five to even up the match.
SET 3 | The Seawolves were unable to get things going on offense in the third as they were quickly bested 25-7. Moore, Pierre-Louis, and Motton picked up all four of the team's kills during the set, while Campbell notched 13 to go with five aces.
SET 4 | Stony Brook flipped the script in the fourth with a commanding 25-16 win to force a fifth set. The Seawolves tallied another 16 kill during the set as they built a double-digit lead at one point, pacing the Camels 21-11. Moore and Anderson combined for 12 of the team's kills during the set.
SET 5 | The fifth and final set went the distance as the Seawolves once again came back from an early hole to tie it up late, but like in the second were unable to seal the victory as they were edged out 16-14. The attack remained potent during the fifth, as Stony Brook registered a .421 attack percentage with 10 kills to claw back from an initial 5-1 deficit and take a 10-8 lead. Despite two more kills from Moore and one from Lola Ojo, however, Campbell surged back in front to take the lead late and close out the match.
