RICHMOND, Va. — Stony Brook's
Linn Beck was named the CAA Women's Soccer Midfielder of the Year, earning the honor for the second straight season. Beck also earned a spot on the All-CAA First Team and was joined by three teammates that also received all-conference nods:
Reilly Rich (First Team),
Abigail Roche (Third Team & All-Rookie) and
Sammy Hannwacker (First Team).
Beck picked up her second straight CAA Midfielder of the Year accolade after pacing her position in goals scored during conference play. The Frankfurt, Germany product tallied four of her nine strikes against league opponents. The senior is the first midfielder to repeat as the position's top player since 2021, when Hofstra's Lucy Porter took home her third consecutive Midfielder of the Year honor.
Rich garnered All-CAA distinction for the fourth time in her career, earning a spot on the first team for the first time in her illustrious career. Rich finished the regular season with 13 goals and 32 points, the most in the conference and 10th most in the NCAA. Five of her 13 goals were game winners, the ninth-best mark in all of Division I. Rich registered four multi-goal games, including the first hat trick of her collegiate career in a victory over regionally-ranked Yale.
Hannwacker earned all-conference honors for the first time in her career. It marks the third straight season that a Seawolves' defender has been selected to the All-CAA First Team. Additionally, with Hannwacker's selection, Stony Brook has placed a defender on an All-CAA team in every season since joining the conference in 2022. Hannwacker played in and started all 17 games, playing more than 1,200 minutes during the regular season and contributing to three clean sheets. Offensively, she scored two goals and added four assists.
Roche earned a spot on both the Third Team and the CAA's All-Rookie Team after playing in all 17 games and making nine starts for the Seawolves as a freshman. She played more than 1,100 minutes, logging a full 90 minutes in six matches. The Montvale, New Jersey native started nine of Stony Brook's final 10 matches. Offensively, Roche pitched in with a goal and three assists (five points).
Stony Brook begins CAA postseason play on Thursday, October 30, hosting No. 3 Hofstra in the North Division Quarterfinal at LaValle Stadium. First touch is scheduled for 6 pm and the match will stream live on FloCollege.
