RICHMOND, Va. – Henry Gartner picked up the second weekly honor for the Stony Brook men's cross country team this season after being named CAA Runner of the Week after pacing the Seawolves with a career-best performance at the Paul Short Run. This is Gartner's first ever weekly award.
Last Friday, Gartner competed in the Gold 8K event in a field of 354 runners from 40 different schools including Georgetown, Texas A&M, Penn State, Syracuse, and Rutgers. He ultimately finished 69th overall with a personal-best time of 24:13.3, leading Stony Brook to a 16th-place finish.
Gartner joins
Collin Gilstrap as the two Seawolves who have been named CAA Runner of the Week this season.
Gartner and the Seawolves are back in action on Friday, October 17, with the team competing in both the IC4A/ECAC Championships and the Princeton Fall Classic
