Men's Cross Country Wrap Up Regular Season With Solid Performances At CCSU Mini Meet

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — Stony Brook men's cross country wrapped up the regular season on Friday afternoon, competing at the Central Connecticut State Mini Meet. The Seawolves placed third as a team, collecting 56 points, with runner Luca Maneri recording a team-best seventh-place finish in the 5000m varsity event.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Maneri secured a top ten finish, placing seventh, with a new PR in the 5000m (15:02.36).
  • Freshman Gavin DeVito posted a solid run, finishing 12th (15:12.57).
  • Cain Lawler rounded out Stony Brook's top-15 performers, finishing 14th with a time of 15:18.09.
  • Finn Burke finished in 24th, crossing the finish line in 15:29.17.
  • Collin McLaughlin recorded a 29th-place finish (15:34.78).

"This was an opportunity for some of the guys to get another race before the conference meet next week, and for some of the group to have one more chance to compete this fall," noted head coach Andy Ronan. "Luca, Gavin, and Cain competed well. I hope this will help their confidence as they head into next weekend."

UP NEXT
With the regular season now complete, the Seawolves will turn their attention to championship season, beginning next week at the 2025 CAA Cross Country Championships on Friday, October 31. The men's 8K race is set to start at 11 am and will emanate from Ocean County Park in Lakewood, New Jersey.
