STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook University men's and women's cross country programs officially announced their schedule for the 2026 season on Friday. After opening things up with a home meet, the Seawolves will follow up with four road events leading into championship season.

The campaign begins as always with the Stony Brook Season Opener on Saturday, September 5. Then, the Seawolves hit the road two weeks later as they head up to Haverford, Pa. on September 18 for the Main Line Invitational, hosted by Haverford College.

October begins with another trip to Pennsylvania as the squad makes its way to Lehigh University for the Paul Short Run on the second. Midway through the month, the Seawolves move on to Princeton for the Joe Handelman '52 Fall Classic on October 16. Finally, Stony Brook concludes the regular season on October 24 with a short drive over to Bethpage, N.Y. for the Short Course Showdown at Adelphi.

Championship season gets underway on Friday, October 30 as the Seawolves again drive down to Nassau County for the CAA Championships, hosted by Hofstra. Hofstra will also host the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on November 13. The season then concludes on November 21 with the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana, hosted by Indiana State.

Last year, the Stony Brook men finished third in the CAA Championships and 15th in the NCAA Northeast Regional. Henry Gartner, now back for his senior season, was the team's top performer last year, becoming the only member of the squad to earn both All-CAA and All-Region honors. He headlines a group of 12 returners, including fellow Northeast Regionals participants Ethan Green, Collin Gilstrap, Gavin Catherwood, Ryan Hesler, and Gavin DeVito. These 12 will be joined by six newcomers.

As for the Stony Brook women, they are coming off a sixth-place finish at the CAA Championships and a 21st-place finish at the Northeast Regionals. Junior Shaylen Goslar looks to once again lead the team as she returns following her All-CAA 2025 season. The team's top finisher at the Northeast Regionals, she will be joined by fellow 2025 participants Danielle Cirrito, Alexis Buskey, Alejandra Garcia, Sophia Squires, and Sarah Williams, as well as five other returners and five newcomers.

Back for his 27th season helming both squads is 12-time Coach of the Year Andy Ronan.
