Seawolves Fall in Home Finale to N.C. A&T

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - In the 2025 home finale, the Seawolves came up short against N.C. A&T as they were downed 3-0 (15-25, 17-25, 25-27) Saturday at home. After falling to the Aggies twice this week, Stony Brook now holds a slim lead over Northeastern for the sixth and final spot in the CAA Tournament with two matches left to play.

In her final game at Pritchard Gym, Kali Moore was tied with Quinn Anderson for the team lead with 13 kills. She also recorded six digs on the day, second to only Madison Cigna with 10.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Seawolves fell behind early, losing a tough first set 25-15. Moore had three kills early on to keep the deficit from getting to great at 11-7, but the Aggies soon rattled off six straight points to make it 17-7 and ultimately put the set out of reach.

SET 2 | Stony Brook kept pace N.C. A&T slightly longer in the second, keeping it a one-point game at 12-11, but just like in the first the Aggies began pulling away mid set in what ended up a 25-17 loss. The offense was potent early on as nine of the team's first 11 points came on kills, led by Moore and Anderson with three each. However, a pair of 5-0 N.C. A&T runs would put the set out of reach late as the Aggies to a 22-14 lead and held on for the win.

SET 3 | Another strong showing from the Stony Brook offense was not enough to prolong the match as the Seawolves forced a tiebreaker but came up short 27-25. Stony Brook registered a .389 attack percentage with 17 kills in the set as Anderson and Moore had six each. The team even took a 14-11 lead halfway through the set and rode that momentum all the way to set point at 24-23. Unfortunately, the Aggies got hot in the end and managed to come back and complete the sweep.

Game Notes
» Moore's 13 kills today give her 1487 in career, exactly one more than Rachel Goldsmith, thus making her second in the program's Division I era in kills behind only Morgan Sweany (1777).
» The Seawolves officially went 5-6 at home this season.
» Cigna had a team-high two aces today.

Up Next
