STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook Baseball, under first-year head coach
Jim Martin, has released its 2026 schedule, featuring 22 games at Joe Nathan Field and a mix of non-conference and Coastal Athletic Association matchups.
"I'm incredibly excited about our 2026 schedule as I step into my first year leading this program," said coach Martin. "The CAA is a highly competitive conference, and we're ready for the challenge. We've put together a strong non-conference slate and added tough midweek matchups that will push us and help us grow throughout the season. Our coaches and players are motivated, energized, and ready to compete every time we take the field."
The 2026 schedule features four teams that participated in last year's NCAA Tournament: Georgia Tech, Northeastern, Fairfield, and Columbia. Northeastern enters the season as the reigning CAA champion, having defeated UNCW to claim the 2025 league title.
The Seawolves open the season with a 12-game road stretch, starting at Arkansas State (Feb. 13–15) and Georgia Tech (Feb. 20–22), both first-time opponents in program history, followed by a series at FIU (Feb. 27–March 1). Stony Brook returns home to open their season at Joe Nathan Field on March 3 by hosting Fordham, then begins conference play with a three-game series against Northeastern (March 6–8). Midweek home games in March includes Siena (March 10) and St. John's (March 17), and the team travels to New Haven (March 31), another first-time opponent.
On the road, the Seawolves will take CAA trips to Charleston (March 13–15), Monmouth (March 20–22), Hostra (April 10-12), Towson (April 24–26), and Northeastern (May 8–10). Home conference series include Towson (March 27–29), Monmouth (April 17–19), and complete their regular season by hosting Hofstra (May 14–16) in the final weekend of the series. The Seawolves will also host UNCW in a conferece weekend (April 2-4) and UMass Lowell (May 1-3) at Joe Nathan Field for their Senior Day Ceremony in a non-conference weekend.
The 2026 CAA Championship will be held at UNCW from May 20–23. With the new divisional format, Stony Brook competes in the North Division with Hofstra, Monmouth, Northeastern, and Towson. Teams in the North will play all four divisional opponents twice, plus two series against South Division teams. The top two teams from each division, along with the two highest-RPI non-qualifiers, will advance to the six-team championship.
As the Seawolves embark on their fourth season in the CAA, they aim to capture their first conference title.
