STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.- The Stony Brook women's track and field team continued its buildup to the indoor championship season by competing at the Fastrack National Invite on Friday. The Seawolves recorded five top-10 finishes as a team, including a win in the 4000m relay.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Niamh Durcan, Enyero Omokeni, Shaylen Goslar, and Danielle Cirrito teamed up to win the 4000m relay (12:05.77).
  • Cirrito took third in the mile run, finishing in 4:58.09. She was one out of five runners to finish in under five minutes.
  • Goslar placed fifth in the 800m (2:16.04), setting a new season-best time in the race.
  • Durcan also had a strong showing in the mile, placing seventh (5:01.53).
  • Omokeni finished ninth in the 400m dash (57.34), setting a new season and personal best in the event for the indoor season.

QUOTES FROM THE SEAWOLVES

"I felt this was a good meet for both teams, even though the final placings of some of our men and women might not reflect it," said head coach Andy Ronan. "The DMR group of Niamh, Enyero, Shaylen, and Danielle produced a very strong run, mainly because all four had come back from running very well in their individual events: Danielle and Niamh in the mile, Shaylen in the 800m, and Enyero had a season and personal best in the 400m."

UP NEXT
Stony Brook will travel to New Haven, Connecticut, next Saturday for its final meet of the indoor regular season, competing at the Giegengack Invitational hosted by Yale.
