STONY BROOK, N.Y.Avery Hines and Isabella Caporuscio of Stony Brook women's lacrosse were both named Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-Americans, as announced by the organization on Thursday morning.

Hines and Caporuscio were selected to the Second and Third Team, respectively.

Hines ranks third in the country and first in the league in caused turnovers, averaging 3.4 per game. She has had multiple caused turnovers and ground balls in seven of Stony Brook's 10 games this season. She put up a program record and career-high eight caused turnovers and six ground balls against Villanova on February 19. She has totaled 26 ground balls for the Stony Brook squad and recently eclipsed 100 career caused turnovers with five total against Vermont on March 26. Hines' defensive efforts contribute to the Seawolves' success, as Stony Brook currently sits as the No. 9 scoring defense in the nation, allowing just 8.7 goals per game.

Caporuscio has scored 25 goals, adding seven assists and 21 caused turnovers, while collecting a team-high 43 draw controls and 29 ground balls. She had a career-best offensive performance with eight points on six goals and two assists in the season-opener against Bryant. She then grabbed a career-high 11 draw controls against UAlbany on February 23 and six ground balls against No. 10 Johns Hopkins on March 1. She leads the CAA in ground balls per game (2.9), third in caused turnovers (2.1), and fifth in draw controls per game (4.3). In the nation, Caporuscio ranks 15th and 24th in ground balls and caused turnovers, respectively.

Hines, Caporuscio, and the Seawolves are back in action on Sunday, March 30 at 12 p.m. as they continue their three-game homestand against William & Mary. The Seawolves hold a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series against the Tribe.
