STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- Stony Brook shut out Farmingdale State and cruised to a 4-0 victory on Monday evening at LaValle Stadium. Ryan Farr, Caleb Danquah and Finlay Oliver all found the back of the net in the non-conference victory over the Rams.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Stony Brook broke the scoreless tie when Ryan Farr scored his second goal of the season in the 39th minute, assisted by Justin Jean-Louis off of corner kick. The Seawolves took that lead into the halftime break and quickly went ahead 2-0 on a goal from Danquah in the 47th minute, assisted by Kyle Smith.
Stony Brook made it a 3-0 advantage on Finlay Oliver's 88th-minute goal, his fourth of the season. Alex Fleury assisted the goal. Oliver added another one in the final seconds to seal a 4-0 victory.
STATS AND NOTES
- Eight different Seawolves registered a point in the victory.
- Farr's goal stood as the game-winning goal after he opened the scoring in the 39th minute.
- Danquah's goal was his third of the season and his first since scoring a late equalizer on the road at FIU (September 6).
- Oliver's brace increased his team-leading goal total to four. His 11 points also pace Stony Brook's offensive unit through nine matches.
- Fleury notched an assist, his team-leading fourth of the season.
- Justin Jean-Louis and Kyle Smith both earned their first point of the season with an assist.
- Stony Brook outshot Farmingdale State 26-7 and finished with an 11-4 edge in shots on goal.
- Rushon Sandy played all 90 minutes and tallied four saves to earn his third clean sheet of the season.
