RICHMOND, Va. — Stony Brook men's lacrosse student-athletes Kian McCoy and Robbie Smith were tabbed to the Preseason All-CAA Team.

Smith was selected to the All-CAA Second Team in 2025 after a career year on Long Island. Smith won 10 or more face-offs in seven contests, including six of the final seven games. Smith's 128 face-off wins were the most in the CAA and his .604 face-off percentage was the third-best mark in the conference. Smith also scooped up 82 ground balls, the second-most in the league. He won 20 face-offs and grabbed 18 ground balls in a win over Monmouth, the single most individually in a CAA game this season. Offensively, Smith added four goals and an assist during the year.

McCoy joined Smith on the All-CAA Second Team in 2025, also earning a spot on the CAA All-Rookie Team. As a freshman, McCoy played in all 14 games and made 10 starts. He totaled 33 points on 15 goals and 18 assists. His 18 helpers and 33 points were second-most on the team, while his 15 goals were third-most among the Seawolves' freshmen class. McCoy tallied multiple points in nine games and scored multiple goals in four contests. His six points (three goals, three assists) in a win over No. 12 Fairfield last season were a season-best mark, earning him CAA Rookie of the Week and USILA Team of the Week recognition.

Stony Brook was selected to finish fifth in the 2026 CAA Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Seawolves open the regular season on the road at Sacred Heart on Friday, February 6.
