JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Seawolves went 0-2 on the second day of the Jacksonville/UNF Invitational on Saturday after being defeated 6-1 by Princeton in game one and 9-0 by North Florida in game two.
How It Happened (Game 1 vs. Princeton)
- Jayci Finch made her first start in the circle as a Seawolf and tossed a scoreless top of the first to begin the day.
- The Tigers would score in each of the next four innings, though, taking a 6-0 lead halfway through the fifth. Stony Brook managed to break up the shutout in the bottom of the inning after back-to-back errors allowed Mia Vannelli to get on base and into scoring position, eventually coming around to score on a Madelyn Stepski sac fly.
- Melissa Reed and Aubrey Jepson kept Princeton off the board over the next two innings to keep it a five-run game, but the Seawolves were retired in order in the bottom of the seventh.
How It Happened (Game 2 vs. Jacksonville)
- After the Seawolves escaped the bottom of the first unscathed thanks to a 1-2-3 double play, the Ospreys came right back with an eight-run bottom of the second.
- In an 8-0 hole, Stony Brook only recorded two more hits the rest of game with singles from Elena Gonzalez and Ashlyn Burgess.
