MIAMI, Fla. - The Seawolves will continue to look for their first win of the 2026 campaign as they went 0-2 on day two of the FIU Felsberg Invitational on Saturday, getting walked off 5-4 by Texas A&M - Corpus Christi before falling 6-0 to the hosting Panthers in game two.
How It Happened (Game 1 vs. Texas A&M - Corpus Christi)
- After Aubrey Jepson, making her first career start, kept things scoreless in the first with a 1-2-3 bottom of the inning, the Seawolves immediately loaded the bases with no outs to begin the second. The team would only score one run, though, on a Madelyn Stepski single up the middle.
- Jepson tossed another scoreless frame in the second, before quickly getting two outs on a pair of looking strikeouts in the third. The Islanders, though, managed to get two and brought both home on a two-out single to take the lead.
- Texas A&M - CC had a chance to add to their lead in the fourth, getting runners on second and third with two outs. Jepson managed to escape the inning unscathed, though, with a groundout to third. In each of the next two innings, the Seawolves also got runners on second and third, but were actually able to scratch out a run both times, first on a sac fly from Naiah Ackerman in the fifth and an RBI groundout from Stepski in the sixth to take a 3-2 lead.
- With the lead back in hand, Jepson fired another 1-2-3 inning in the sixth, capped off by her sixth strikeout of the day. The next inning, Rachael Brown drove in the insurance run on an RBI double to extend the lead to 4-2. In the end, though, the lead was not enough as the Islanders loaded up the bases in the bottom of the seventh and brought all three runners home to walk it off.
How It Happened (Game 2 vs. FIU)
- The Panthers quickly went up 3-0 in the first inning and tacked on another in each of the next three. Stony Brook, meanwhile, was held without a baserunner until the top of the fifth when Elena Gonzalez punched a double through the right side.
- A single from Marissa Thalassinos in the seventh would be Stony Brook's only other hit of the day as they were ultimately shutout by the Panthers.

- In her first career start, Jepson went 6.1 innings with six strikeouts.
- Melissa Reed threw four innings of relief against FIU, allowing just one unearned run and striking out one.
