STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Stony Brook Athletics is proud to share that Giving Day 2026 was successful, once again showcasing the unparalleled generosity and support of the Stony Brook community towards advancing the University's mission.

Giving Day 2026 saw 498 unique donors contribute 564 gifts to raise $211,219 towards enhancing the athletic experience for Seawolves' student-athletes, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to excel both on and off the playing field. These investments are instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence, empowering our student-athletes to achieve their fullest potential and represent Stony Brook with pride and distinction.

Stony Brook Athletics' 498 unique donors accounted for 12 percent of the University's total participation and the more than $200,000 raised represented 27 percent of the total money raised across the entire University. Additionally, Stony Brook Athletics was 11-for-11 in meeting challenges and matches across individual sports.

More than 4,000 alumni, faculty, staff, students, family members and friends were inspired to show their support for 24 Hours To Empower Every Seawolf during the university-wide initiative that crescendoed on March 25. This show of support was the largest ever in the program's history, surpassing last year's donor participation and demonstrating the growing momentum and collective commitment of the Seawolf community.

More than $770,840 in total impact was contributed for over 150 programs and funds benefiting student experiences, academics, research, healthcare and more across Stony Brook's campuses.
