STONY BROOK, N.Y. — The Stony Brook men's lacrosse team will face MAAC Champion Marist in the Opening Round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament at Tenney Stadium in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on Wednesday, May 6, at 7 pm, as announced during the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday night. The winner will advance to meet No. 1 seed Princeton on Sunday, May 10.

Stony Brook won its first-ever CAA Championship on Saturday, upsetting No. 16 Towson. It represented the fourth conference championship and NCAA Tournament berth in program history. The victory ended a 14-year NCAA Tournament drought for Stony Brook.

Stony Brook boasted eight All-CAA honorees, including the Co-Rookie of the Year Kyan East. All-CAA performer Tommy Wilk was named the 2026 Men's Lacrosse Championship Most Outstanding Player, making 17 saves and posting a .607 save percentage in the title game. Wilk has made double-digit saves in 12 of Stony Brook's 15 games this season and posted a save percentage of at least 60 percent in six contests.

The Seawolves and Red Foxes met earlier this season, a 14-11 victory for Stony Brook at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. Justin Bonacci tallied a game-best six points on three goals and three assists. Jack Cavalieri set a new career high with four points, scoring three goals and assisting on another in the win over Marist.

Stony Brook is 14-7 all-time against Marist. It will mark the first meeting in a national postseason game between the two New York based programs.
